Length of legislation (Bills)
- No bill (proposed legislation) shall be over (100) pages in length.
- All bills shall be on-line for public scrutiny (in a bill's final draft) for (5) complete days.
- No amendments/earmarks shall be entered prior to (72) hours of said legislation going on-line for the people's revue.
Why is this important?
Our Congress writes large 1000 page or more bills for very good reasons.
- They do not understand the old saying of "eating one bite of the
elephant at a time, not the entire elephant in one sitting." This is
why "comprehensive" reforms which, start out with good intentions for
us often fail.
- Large bills are a way of hiding hidden agendas such as, pet pork
projects, special interest/lobby payoffs not too mention how these
bills are loaded with areas left open to interpretation at their own
whim.
The bottom line: These large massive mounds of
gobbledy-goop are a sneaky way to waste our hard earned tax dollars and
every bit as important to gain more control over "We the People."
